about my booking

General Booking Information

Your technician should contact you prior to arrival. If you have not heard from them by the time of expected arrival please go to our Find a Technician page and look up your location, there you will find the direct contact number for your local technician. These contact numbers divert to direct to their mobiles if they are on route.

If the technician has arrived at your booked location or you decide after diagnosis not to proceed you will be charged a minimum a call out and diagnosis fee, this is a minimum of £70 and dependent on many circumstances such as travel incurred. Should you wish to receive an exact quote for this prior to a booking fee please contact your local technician to discuss.

If the technician spots issues with your vehicle at any time that may put your vehicle at risk we reserve the right to refuse to supply the service or to abandon the service if required. If this is prior to the service beginning you will only be charged a call out fee. However, if it is part way through a service you will be charged the full cost of the service due to costs incurred.

On completion of service, you will be supplied with a copy of the contract and payment is taken either by cash, card or bank transfer.

Being mobile in the unfortunate circumstances the weather is against us it is possible we will not be able to complete your booked service at a given day or time. We will not be held accountable for such circumstances or any other unforeseen issues that may cause the technician the need to reschedule your booking.

You should allow the technician 45-60 minutes to complete the carbon cleaning process depending on which stage you choose.

Please ensure there is a minimum of a 1/8 of a tank of fuel in the vehicle on arrival. For 2 to 4-stage services ideally between a 1/8 and a 1/4 of a tank maximum as this will give the perfect mix ratio for our fuel based injector cleaner and DPF regeneration aid chemicals.

If you are receiving a 1 or 2-stage engine carbon clean please have your vehicle(s) engine fully warmed up for when the technician arrives. For 3 and 4-stage services, the engine temperature at the start of service is not important.

On arrival, the technician will diagnose the vehicle prior to attempting to provide a service. They will note on your contract all engine management errors, discuss them with you and ask you to sign our contract/terms of business prior to proceeding with any service.

The agreed carbon cleaning service will then be provided according to the details on the Carbon Cleaning section of this website

There are two parts to this question.

Firstly our workmanship – All our technicians are highly skilled and trained using only the best equipment to protect your vehicle from the risks of damage during the ECU remapping process. Saying that we would not take any risks with your vehicle so for piece of mind UK Carbon Cleaning guarantee to you that all our technicians are fully insured.

Secondly – Can a remap damage your vehicle? If the code is altered correctly no! No two vehicles are the same therefore it makes no sense that generic code should be supplied even for same model vehicles. We only supply custom remaps and all our code is written within safe modification limits. We will not push beyond the boundaries of your vehicle engines capability. Sticking to these rules means we can categorically state that our remapping is a safe option. However, it is important to understand that increasing the performance of a vehicle does increase responsibility. Simply put more power = more stress on the engine’s components. Like any other supplier, we cannot be held accountable for such circumstances. With this in mind, we do ask all clients to sign a disclaimer that they understand and accept the associated risks. If you have any further questions regarding this your local technician will be happy to answer them.

You should allow an average of 2-3 hours for the process to be completed and perhaps longer if it’s to also include an engine carbon clean and is very badly blocked.

Please ensure there is a minimum of a 1/4 of a tank of fuel in the vehicle on arrival.

On arrival, the technician must diagnose the vehicle prior to attempting to provide a service. This is so that he can be certain of the requirement and can then explain to you what is required to get your vehicle full road worthy again not just for now but hopefully the foreseeable future. All relevant diagnostic information will be noted on your contract, this includes all engine management errors, readings from live data off the related sensors and manual pressure checks. Once a diagnosis is completed our technician will then discuss with you the exact requirement for your vehicle.

Any repairs will be carried out or advised and if required a 2-stage DPF flush along with computer reset will be performed in accordance with our DPF service description details.

If required we offer error codes are reset and a test drive is performed.

On arrival, the technician will complete a diagnose and health check on the vehicle prior to attempting to provide a remap.

You will be asked if you want a performance-enhancing map, economy map or a mixture of both, the latter is the recommended option for most.

A battery stabiliser will be attached to the vehicle to protect from a drop in current that could damage the vehicle computer whilst the file is read and rewritten from the vehicles onboard computer.

The ECU’s file will be read and sent to our remapper who will then custom write the changes into the file, send it back to us, we’ll then load it onto your vehicle.

On completion of the service, it’s usual to go out for a test drive to ensure satisfaction
