Do you have an Adblue problem? Unfortunately, most people's experience is that Adblue systems aren’t exactly reliable and when they go wrong are extremely expensive to repair as it generally involves replacing parts. The real problem is not even the manufacturer, or their dealers, seem to be able to diagnose the specific part that's failed so it’s become common practice to replace the whole lot (tank, pump and control module) in one, and more often than not, at an eye-watering cost of > £2,000!!!

The alternative is that we can remap the vehicle to bypass the Adblue system, with prices starting at £299.99.

What is Adblue and does my vehicle need it? AdBlue is a solution used in diesel vehicles to decrease the amount of harmful NOx emissions produced during the combustion process. These emissions are a byproduct of burning fuel and air in the engine to generate power for the vehicle. AdBlue is a component of the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system in a car, where it is injected into the exhaust system to combine with the exhaust gases. Through a chemical reaction, AdBlue breaks down the NOx emissions, resulting in a reduction of these harmful gases, although not eliminating them entirely.

Your vehicle doesn’t require it so bypassing won’t have any negative effect on how the vehicle runs, as above its only effect will be a higher exhaust of NOx.

Disclaimer: NOx is not currently measured on UK's MOT tests so an otherwise healthy vehicle as per manufacturer specification will currently pass a MOT emissions test. However, it should be noted that The UK's Road Traffic Act requires that vehicles on public roads be in a roadworthy condition. Removing or modifying any part of emission control systems, including the Adblue system, may render your vehicle unroadworthy and could result in penalties. By requesting this removal service you confirm that you understand that the vehicle should not be used on the road anywhere where it would be illegal to do so. Christian visited me for a DPF clean on a van with an engine management light on. The engine was carbon cleaned and also DPF. He diagnosed a faulty sensor which was the reason the dpf had clogged. He is very knowledgeable and professional in his approach. I sent an email enquiring whether carbon cleaning would be appropriate for my car late in the evening and received a call back at 0900 the following day. I had great results from the stage 3 Engine Carbon clean. Matt came to my work place, was professional and knowledgable. I have a Audi A6 2.0 TDI, 160,000 miles. The clean took about an hour. I was very impressed on the drive home from work (about 7 miles) my MPG jumped from the usual 34 to 42 MPG. It was running so cool the temperature gauge barely moved. Normally sits about quarter way up the gauge on that run. Will be calling Matt again next year for sure.

This professional service made a massive difference to the performance of my vehicle. I have a 2.0 tdci Ford from 2008, and went for the 3 way EGR and turbo, Injectors and Hydrogen clean. After the car was treated I was doing wheel spins all over the place in all gears. It took me the best part of a day to readjust how much less throttle I needed to apply. Mpg up from 32 in city to 36 in city. The engine is smoother as well. The best part is it seems to have fixed the issue I had with raw desiel clouds be ejected from my exhaust.

Full stage 3 dog and engine regen

Tony carried out the work to a very high standard, his time and professionalism was superb. I was informed prior to the work starting of all the faults on the car and the reasons behind them. I was informed about the faulty sensor I needed to replace and the cost before work was carried out. During the work I was sent regular updates and photos of the process and explained to what was happening. Once finished I was shown all the work carried out and the new readings of pressures and that no fault codes were now flagged up by the car. Yes, once the ECU is programmed it no longer sees the Adblue system so there will be no warnings on the dash and the vehicle will continue to drive perfectly. NOTE: In some instances, the Adblue pump and/or module must be unplugged after the vehicle is remapped.

As with any form of remap file writing, there is always a tiny risk of failure which can lead to difficulties but these can always be recovered. The question shouldn’t be if there are risks but if there was a problem how is it handled? You’ll be pleased to know all our technicians are highly skilled and trained using only the best equipment to protect your vehicle from the risks of damage during the ECU remapping process. Saying that we would not take any risks with your vehicle so for peace of mind UKCC Auto Techs guarantees you that all our technicians are fully insured.

Yes. If you’ve been told or heard differently elsewhere you’re unfortunately been lied to. The good news is this only applies to manufacturer warranties (third-party warranties won’t be affected). Manufacturers make painstaking efforts to clearly state that unapproved modifications to any components will void their warranty so if your vehicle has a manufacturer warranty then you should think twice before having such a service performed on the vehicle.

Yes, because this is just a software fix it would be a simple process of installing the original file on the ECU. We permanently retain your original file just in case you ever require us to reverse the process.
